With new guidelines in place from the CDC and the State of Maine, we are re-opening our office to normal business hours effective May 4th. Our office structure has changed in order to keep our community and staff as safe and healthy as possible. We have implemented the following changes to our office:
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your support of our small business.
- Exam appointments will need to be spread out in order to help maintain social distancing within our office. This means that even though we will be open, we may still have to reschedule some currently scheduled appointments to a later date. We ask that if you are considered high risk, are showing any current signs of illness, or if you have recently traveled to a high risk area or outside of Maine within the last 14 days that you reschedule your appointment.
- When we call to confirm your appointment and upon entering our office we will be screening you with some health questions to ensure we are safe to proceed with your appointment. This may include a temperature reading in office.
- Everyone entering our offices will be required to wear a face mask. We ask that you bring your own mask if you are able, otherwise a mask will be provided for you. If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons we would suggest postponing your exam to a later date.
- We will be limited to allowing only one person in the exam room at one time. Any other members with you will be asked to wait in the car. The exception will be if the patient is a minor who can have one guardian accompany them to their appointment, or in cases of someone needing special assistance.
- Our office doors will remain locked in order to limit the number of people in the building at one time. Once you arrive we ask that you call us from your vehicle to let us know you are here, and we will direct you from there.
- We will be ensuring the highest level of cleaning and disinfecting of our entire office between each patient. This means there may be a slight delay between your appointment time and the time we bring you into the building.
- Our optical will be open to purchase glasses, but our opticians will only be able to assist one person at a time. Again please call our office when you arrive so we can coordinate how to help. If you are picking up glasses or contacts we can deliver them to you curbside. If you need a repair done on your glasses we will come out and retrieve them from your vehicle, and can fix them while you wait or coordinate a pick up time. If you are in need of an adjustment or would like to shop for glasses we can bring you inside when the optician is available, and wearing masks will be required for these services.
- For your convenience you may order contacts online through our website (Order Contact Lenses); however you may continue to call our office to order contact lenses as you have in the past.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your support of our small business.
